OEE Factory Run: Turning Theory into Real-World Thinking

Most students know the formula:

OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality.

But real learning begins when they understand what those numbers actually mean—and how they behave in real production environments.

In theory, data is clean and complete.
In industry? It’s often missing, inconsistent, or unreliable.

That’s why I didn’t stop at just explaining formulas.

To bridge the gap, I developed a hands-on OEE simulation model using HTML and Tailwind CSS, supported by a simple UX dashboard. This allowed diploma students to see how OEE changes with real-time variables.

What Students Learned

Instead of memorizing numbers, they explored:

  • How to select the right KPIs: Availability, Performance, Quality

  • How to use real production logs—not assumptions

  • How to simulate downtime, rejects, and slow cycles

  • How to turn raw data into graphs and dashboards

No complex software—just real thinking, clear data, and practical application.

Why It Matters

Many companies still don’t use OEE dashboards—and that’s okay.

The journey starts with:

  • Manual calculations

  • Recognizing trends

  • Building simple tools for communication

Because OEE isn’t just about the value.
It’s about the story behind every data point—
and the teamwork needed to improve it.

That’s how we prepare industry-ready minds.
